Vitamin D is often called "the sunshine vitamin" because it is naturally produced under the skin following exposure to sunlight. During winter, we can't get vitamin D from sunlight because the sun is too low in the sky. Because it's difficult to get enough vitamin D from food, Public Health England recommends supplementing with vitamin D to maintain healthy bones and muscles.

Food sources of vitamin D include fortified foods, eggs, and fatty fish. While most vitamin D3 supplements on the market are derived from sheep's wool lanolin, Viridian Vitamin D3 capsules provide vitamin D3 in a vegan form derived from lichen. Viridian Vitamin D3 has been clinically studied at the University of Surrey and has been shown to increase serum vitamin D levels.

Recommended doses:
Take 1 capsule daily with a main meal. The capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with a little water. Do not exceed the recommended dose unless recommended by your doctor.

Ingredients per daily dose (1 Capsule):
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) (1000IU) 25µg (500 VNR*), in an alfalfa base, vegetable cellulose capsule.

Does not contain:
Dairy, lactose, sucrose, wheat, soy, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors.

Precautions for use:
Do not take with other vitamin D-containing supplements. Store in a cool, dry place, out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding, unless recommended by a doctor.
