It is ruled by the planet Mercury and emits cold, green rays. This chromatic frequency, the same color as Earth, has strong YIN and integrative characteristics: it is no coincidence that it possesses a fattening ether in the human body. The Earth element to which it corresponds (Kapha Dosha) is represented, according to Ayurvedic medicine, by the FLESH system in the human body. These are the so-called Heavy Viscera: kidneys, liver, large intestine, spleen, muscle tissue, bones, etc. Emerald corresponds to the seventh chakra (Sahasrara) and regulates the sense of smell: the presence of green can be observed by looking at the tip of the nose through the water prism.

In clinical practice, this gem is used for all gastrointestinal and digestive tract disorders: anorexia, stomatitis, canker sores, dyspepsia, hyperchlorhydria, reflux esophagitis, peptic ulcer, belching, indigestion, duodenitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and flatulence.
