Islamic Medicine is naturally psychic-spiritual: the reading of the Quran itself is considered a therapeutic tool. It clearly affirms the Trinity of man as a physical, psychic, and spiritual being. Man's spiritual reality becomes an essential parameter for both diagnosis and therapy. Modern scientific knowledge of psychoneuroimmunology, that is, knowledge concerning the chemistry of psycho-immune relationships, finds in Islamic medicine, more than in any other, the most perfect and similar philosophical basis.
